05 AugLifesize gets serious about solutions for federal agencies
Lifesize Communications is serious about providing videoconferencing services to the federal market. The company, a division of Logitech, as achieved Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification for select HD videoconferencing systems as well as for the LifeSize Networker gateway.
JITC is the organizational element of the Defense Information Systems Agency which is responsible for the certification of joint and combined interoperability of all IT and a national security systems in use by the Department of Defense.
In addition to achieving JITC certification, Lifesize has hired big-time videoconferencing veteran, Paul Cantwell, as vice president of federal sales. Cantwell has formerly worked for industry giants Cisco and Tandberg. We know Lifesize is ready to play big when they bring on the big players.
Understanding the unique needs of federal agencies for videoconferencing solutions is key.
“HD video conferencing is in great demand by government organizations that are often geographically dispersed and rely heavily on technology to fulfill their mission,” said Cantwell. “The JITC certification will now allow all DoD agencies to realize the quality, productivity improvements, return on investment and interoperability that LifeSize systems provide.”
